It seems I only ever update this thing when I'm unhappy. But as it turns out I've come across a statistic that worries me a lot. It turns out that in America more men are raped in prison every year than non incarcerated women are raped. Approximately 20% of prisoners male and female are raped in US prisons. Of those raped 75% of men and 60% of the women will be subject to repeated attacks. I am not in any way suggesting that rape of non imprisoned women isn't an important issue but it seems wrong to me that the government and society at large seems to think that prison rape is acceptable.

Hey this LJ thing is kind of neat.

Christopher is full of self pity and self love. If you've got a problem with that fuck off.

PS I have no intention posting anything interesting.

This is the single most horrifying case of corruption I've heard of. For those of you who can't be bothered reading the article its about two American judges who took bribes to send juveniles to prison.

Singles Awareness Day (SAD)

To commemorate yesterday's celebration of single culture I thought I'd share some wisdom I found on the internet.

http://www.cracked.com/article_17063_5-reasons-being-single-sucks-even-more-than-you-thought.html

Summary: Being single means you get paid less, work more, pissed on by society, higher taxes and you die sooner. I'm afraid it doesn't actually matter which gender you are either so sorry boys and girls.

This uplifting message of hope brought to you by prozac, zoloft and valium.

Happy Valentines Day!

Adventures in Metho

So some of you may know that I'm not too bright. As proof I submit to you the following stories.

Lessons learned during Medleys: Methylated spirits are an extremely effective and extremely painful makeup remover.

Lessons learned after Medleys: Never hold a lit lighter and a metho soaked rag in the same hand.

Moral of the story pain is gain.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Saudi Arabia is my least favourite country and a contender for the prize of "Worst Country in the World"

Hey here's a thought. As some of you may have noticed pro-democracy supporters are busy being shot in Myanmar (Burma.) One of Myanmar's principle supporters is China. As much as I love China this seems a little bit dodgy. Perhaps in a show of support for the Myanmar protesters we should boycott the Olympics. If supporting Mynanmar's fledgling democracy movement isn't your thing then there are plenty of other Chinese violations of human rights that would justify an Olympic boycott. It is my belief that if China were faced with its massive party being spoilt by an Olympic boycott it would use its clout to force the rulers of Myanmar to back down.

Anyway its an interesting thought and its a damn pity that we're all too sports mad to consider it. I mean a year without a gold medal! I don't think anyone will boycott China's Olympics but it is a nice thought.

Behold! Cryptic Meme!

If there is someone on your friends list you would love to have an epic, sweaty, damn-near-legendary, 12 hour fuckathon with, post this same exact sentence in your journal.

[You need not re-post this, but wouldn't it be much more fun if you did?]

I do this for science not for sex. Well maybe just a little bit for the sex.

Holy shit! Bar your windows and stay inside. I just heard on the news that its the fucking apocalypse. Apparently the dead are rising to feast on the flesh of the living! When I first heard it I dismissed it as all so much bullshit. I was so sure that FoxNews had been hacked by lefties. But it's on all the networks and news sites.

I made the mistake of walking outside. Bloody hell it was terrifying. My old teacher who died in prison was coming for me! I ran back inside and went medieval on his child molesting arse with a butcher's knife. But he managed to bite me. I'm not feeling too good right now. I'm feeling really sick. I think I might have to go to the hospital.

Don't make the same mistake I did. Barricade your homes or run for your lives. The news says the army is setting up a assembly area near the Swanbourne barracks. Apparently I can medical attention there. If you're in Perth make your way to the SAS barracks in Swanbourne provided you can do so safely. If the zombies have already reached your area then stay inside. The army is already sending patrols to rescue survivors. Lets see how the demons of hell do against the SAS!

Good luck. Hopefully we all make it.

muahahahaha I now have a laptop. Combined with my precious PDA this now means that I will never ever have to be more than 1m away from a wireless capable computer. I can now go to coffee shops and write crap on LJ and make it look like I'm a sophisticated writer.

My sister demanded this so.

Hi, Killabot.

Yes that's right. My sister is a killer robot. Or maybe cyborg.

Missing White Girl Syndrome. The article explains it in more detail but the short of it is that if you're a minority or unattractive don't expect anyone to care if you go missing.

In other news I was recently reading Woman's Day and I saw an article that said the "ghost of the Danish queen was haunting Princess Mary" I foolishly assumed that by ghost they meant some sort of metaphorical ghost. Like perhaps she set an impossible example to live up to. I was wrong. Woman's Day was claiming that the literal ghost of the Danish Queen was haunting the palace and forcing princess out.
